Cookie preferences
What we set, what it does, and your choice.
We use Google Analytics to count page views and reading activity. Until you choose, it runs without cookies: each page view reaches Google as a stand-alone event with a truncated IP address, and audience figures are estimated from those events rather than by following individual readers.
Allowing analytics cookies lets Google Analytics set its own cookies (_ga, and _ga_ followed by an identifier, kept for up to two years) so that your visits count as one reader rather than several. Declining keeps the cookieless mode. We set no advertising cookies, and a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal is treated as having declined.
