Cookie preferences

We use Google Analytics and PostHog to count page views and reading activity. PostHog (PostHog Inc., US cloud) records page views, clicks and basic device and browser information so we can understand how the site is used; it does not record your session. Until you choose, both run without cookies: each page view reaches Google as a stand-alone event with a truncated IP address, and audience figures are estimated from those events rather than by following individual readers, while PostHog keeps its identifier in memory only and stores nothing on your device.

Allowing analytics cookies lets Google Analytics set its own cookies (_ga, and _ga_ followed by an identifier, kept for up to two years) and lets PostHog keep its identifier in a first-party cookie and local storage, so that your visits count as one reader rather than several. Declining keeps the cookieless mode and removes what PostHog stored. We set no advertising cookies, and a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal is treated as having declined.
