Editorial standards

USA Standard publishes original reporting, analysis and explanatory journalism. Every article carries a named author. Material factual claims are attributed to a named source, a filing, a document or other evidence the newsroom has reviewed. Primary sources are preferred where they exist. Estimates are identified as estimates and attributed to whoever made them. We do not publish investment recommendations.

Source selection

We use regulatory filings, official releases, court documents, company disclosures, public records, direct interviews and other primary materials wherever possible. Secondary sources may provide context, but they do not replace direct verification when a primary record exists.

Conflicts of interest

Journalists and editors disclose relevant financial, professional or personal conflicts, and do not cover subjects where a conflict makes independent reporting impractical.

Artificial intelligence

AI tools may assist with administrative work, transcription and organisation. Editorial responsibility remains with a named human journalist or editor. Factual claims are independently verified. Nothing is published merely because a model produced it.

Images

Images are original, licensed, supplied with permission or otherwise lawfully used. Captions and credits are accurate. Generated or materially altered imagery is disclosed wherever it could otherwise mislead a reader.

Headlines

Headlines must accurately represent the article. We do not write a headline that creates a misleading impression in order to attract a click.

Numbers

Figures are checked against primary sources where primary sources exist: regulatory filings, company statements, official statistical releases. Where a figure is an estimate, we say whose estimate it is.

No investment advice

We report what happened, what was filed and what people said. Nothing we publish is a recommendation to buy or sell any security, and no article should be read as one.

Corrections

We correct factual errors in public, according to our corrections policy, and record every correction in the corrections log.
