Why Shakira's Pyramids Concert Slid to 2 April 2027 After Two Postponements
Shakira's Pyramids show has moved from April 2026 to November 2026 and now to 2 April 2027.

Shakira has moved her concert at the Pyramids of Giza again. In an Instagram Story posted on 31 October 2026, she said the show would take place on 2 April 2027 rather than 28 November 2026, according to reports published on 1 November by Egyptian Streets and International Business Times UK.
The show was first scheduled for 7 April 2026. It was moved to November because of Middle East tensions, according to Egyptian Streets, and the new change makes it the second postponement.
Three Dates for One Show, From April 2026 to April 2027
The original plan was 7 April 2026, according to Egyptian Streets. The show was then moved to 28 November 2026. IBTimes UK reports that in March, TicketEgypt, the official ticketing partner, said tickets for the November date would stay valid and that refunds and returns would be available.
On 31 October, Shakira posted the new date. Egyptian Streets reports that she attributed the change to the current circumstances in the region, and closed her message with "See you on April 2, in Cairo!" IBTimes UK reports that she said the safety and well-being of everyone involved came first.
Ticket holders are being directed to TicketEgypt to check whether their tickets remain valid and what refund conditions apply. The reporting does not give refund terms for the April 2027 date.
Venture Lifestyle Builds the Production and the Ticket Base
Venture Lifestyle is the promoter. Its founder and chief executive, Rabih Mokbel, told The National on 28 August 2026 that the show would go ahead as planned on 28 November. The company also produced a 2025 Anyma show at the same site, according to the same article.
The show has a capacity of 20,000. Mokbel described the event as relatively intimate, and he expected a sell-out with about half of the audience made up of tourists. Tickets start at EGP 7,055, or about $140, and most are general admission. These figures date from 28 August, before the latest change, and may have moved since.
Venture Lifestyle has offered travel packages through partner travel companies that link the concert to hotel stays and other Egyptian destinations. The National reports that more than 6,000 international visitors had taken these packages as of late August.
The ticket base includes visitors who plan trips around the date.
Staging Rules at a Monument: Crew, Shuttles and Restrictions
Mokbel set out the production limits in August. No projections are allowed, and the Pyramids cannot be covered. He said artists must treat the monument as the main focus of the event rather than themselves.
The Anyma show required about 1,200 staff, including security, ushers, technical crew, and health and safety teams, with about 200 people flown in from abroad. For Shakira's show, Mokbel said the main concern was whether the economics of the wider regional tour would continue to support bringing such a large production to Egypt. He also said some outside expertise will be consulted.
Logistics include about 600 shuttle buses and a meeting and parking point near the Grand Egyptian Museum. Mokbel expects the trip from central Cairo, about 15 km from the Grand Egyptian Museum, to take about two hours, including the transfer at the museum meeting point.
Mokbel also put the event's indirect economic value at an estimated $20 million to $30 million, a figure he gave as a promoter estimate in the same August coverage.
Regional Circumstances Behind Two Postponements and an Abu Dhabi Cancellation
Regional circumstances are the reason given for the postponements. Shakira's statement on the latest change and the earlier move to November both point to circumstances in the region, and no specific security incident is named in the coverage.
A related event in the Gulf is the Offlimits Music Festival at Etihad Park on Yas Island, which was due to be headlined by Shakira on 21 November 2026, after being rescheduled from 4 April. On 18 August 2026, the festival's organisers announced that it would not go ahead, according to The National.
The organisers said tickets would be refunded automatically through the platform where they were bought, and that they looked forward to bringing the community together again in 2027. The reason for the cancellation was not given in the statement reported by The National.
The National's August coverage of the Giza show also refers to a cancelled Doha concert, without tying it to the Giza decision.
What a Postponement Means for Ticket Balances and Tour Income
The reporting gives no fee, gross ticket revenue or revenue-share figure for the Giza show. The only Giza-specific financial estimate in the reporting is the promoter's $20 million to $30 million indirect economic figure, reported on 28 August 2026.
For ticket holders, the financial effect depends on the ticketing terms. For the first move, TicketEgypt said tickets would stay valid. For the April 2027 date, holders are pointed to TicketEgypt for validity and refund conditions. In Abu Dhabi, the organisers said refunds would be automatic.
The National described the Giza show in August as, at that stage, Shakira's only regional date on the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. The tour's Abu Dhabi date was part of the same run. The Giza show is now set for April 2027, later than the 28 November date in August coverage.
